40% of project cost up to a $4,000 lifetime rebate limit
To be eligible for the Residential ANY INCOME Rebate:
Single-family house, two-unit duplex, or condominium located in Maine.
The space must be heated throughout the heating season
Only single-zone heat pumps with one indoor unit each (including ducted indoor units)
Must be a 25C Federal tax credit-eligible heat pump
80% of the total required capacity of the dwelling at the design temp is covered by heat pumps
Heat pump(s), combined with supplemental heat, sized for at least 100% of home’s peak heating load
Primary fossil-fueled space heating system, if any, connected only to a generator or turned off with power switch covered. Alternatively, for homes with domestic hot water heated by a central boiler, all room thermostats must be turned off or all the way down.

MODERATE INCOME WHOLE HOME REBATE
60% of project cost up to a $6,000 lifetime rebate limit
To be eligible for the Residential MODERATE INCOME Rebate:
Have an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) up to $70,000 for individual tax filers, or $100,000 for joint filers
Homeowner principal residence of the single-family house, two-unit duplex, or condominium located in Maine
The space must be heated throughout the heating season
Only single-zone heat pumps with one indoor unit each (including ducted indoor units)
Must be a 25C Federal tax credit-eligible heat pump
80% of the total required capacity of the dwelling at the design temp is covered by heat pumps
Heat pump(s), combined with supplemental heat, sized for at least 100% of home’s peak heating load

Commercial Rebate
Standard
Single-zone heat pumps are eligible for $500 rebate per unit with an HSPF of at least 12.0.
Multi-zone heat pumps are eligible for $750 rebate per 2 zone unit, $1,000 rebate per 3 zone unit and $1,250 rebate per 4 or more zone units with HSPF values of 10.0 or higher.
Small Business Initiative
Single-zone heat pumps are eligible for a $1600 rebate. Up to three rebates may be permitted per business location.
To be eligible for the SBI Rebates:
You must be the owner of the business located in Maine (you do not need to own the building)
You must shift primary heating and cooling from existing fuel sources to high-performance heat pumps
Utility bill must show SGS or general service rate class
MGS under the utility bill must show SGS sentence
Medium-class customers with an average monthly demand up to 50kW may be eligible for additional initiatives including those who receive CMP Medium General Service and Versant Rate Code M-2
Warehouses, large assembly, grow facilities, multi-family buildings, and facilities that heat with natural gas are not eligible

Efficiency Maine offers rebates for certain heat pump models installed by a registered vendor. We are a qualified registered vendor and handle all of the details for you. During your installation we will fill out all rebate papers and have them ready for you to look over and sign. We deduct the rebate instantly from your invoice so you get the savings immediately and don’t have to wait for the money to come in the mail. We submit all paperwork on your behalf to Efficiency Maine. It’s that easy!
Are you an Efficiency Maine registered vendor?
Yes, we are a registered vendor with Efficiency Maine and can offer rebates instantly. We keep all of our records up to date so our registered vendor status is always current.
