What is a Heat Pump?

A heat pump is a heating and air conditioning system that uses te process of refrigeration to heat and cool. It uses electricity to turn on and run the motor and fan, but does not use electricity to produce heat. The refrigeration process is reversed to provide heating for your home.

Don’t forget to clean your filters!

Your heat pump filters need to be cleaned at least once a month to maintain optimal air quality. You can remove the filters by opening the front of your heat pump and pulling them out. They can be vacuumed clean or you can shake them off outside to remove the dust.

They may also be washed, just remove any snap-on filters before washing and allow them to dry before re-inserting into your heat pump.

Annual Cleaning

The indoor and outdoor unit’s coil and fan assembly need to be professionally cleaned annually to maintain efficiency, air flow and keep the air in your home clean.

Can I use a heat pump as my primary heating souce?

Yes! A heat pump will save you the money if used as primary and your other heating source used as only a backup. You can also use heat pumps as your only heating source. We only use heat pumps in all of our buildings and our home.

Do heat pumps work when the temperature drops?

Yes! Heat pumps will work at subzero temperatures. Daikin heat pumps are rated to produce heat down to -13°F without the use of a pan heater. They will continue to operate down to -32°F, just not at full BTU capacity.

Can I get a heat pump for the whole house or only one room?

Yes, both! A multi heat pump system has one outdoor unit and multiple indoor units in a whole house system. You can use various indoor head styles and sizes in multiple areas of the home to obtain your desired results. You can also mix and match multi and single systems. A single heat pump system has one outdoor and one indoor unit to cover a specific area.

Will my electric bill go up from using a heat pump?

No.
If you currently use electric heat or space heaters, your electric bill will go down significantly.

Yes.
If you use propane, oil, etc. your electric bill may increase approximately $50 - $80 per month per indoor unit. You will have huge savings and will not be spending hundreds of dollars a month on propane, oil, etc.
